Announcing the launch of a new educational initiative in summer 2023! MATHS CAMP Saint Lucia will provide specialist and targeted training for 100 secondary-level mathematics teachers and mathematics support for 200 Form-4 Secondary school students to help develop their competencies for Caribbean Secondary School examinations and to enhance their employability. Camps will be held both in Castries and Vieux Fort and are open to teachers and students islandwide.
For MATHS CAMP Saint Lucia, AATEIM is partnering with the Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology and Vocational Training (facilitating nomination of teachers and students), the SALCC (providing venues for the Camps in the North and South) and Good News Project (an American charitable organisation with a history of goodwill projects in St Lucia).
Recognising the importance of this venture, we seek help to raise sufficient funds to enable the 100 teachers and 200 students to attend. We intend for this summer’s camps to be a transformative experience for all who attend. AATEIM members and all well wishers can assist by making a donation to the Association here. Support our young academics! Our Bursaries programme aims to target a minimum of 20 students annually, providing support for school fees, computers and incidentals. We are seeking to raise XCD 1,500 for school fees, XCD 3,000 for a laptop computer, and XCD 1,000 for books, printing, bus fares, and meal support, a total of XCD 5,500 per student.
